Waterford

Waterford is a county in the South East of Ireland.

It’s known for being Ireland’s oldest county. If you want a glance at what Ireland use to be like or you wish to enjoy the lively culture of present day Ireland, then you will love Waterford. With its wide range of tourist activities and historic venues, Waterford can boast that it offers everyone the “complete holiday experience”.

Waterford has plenty to see and do & one of the things it’s most famous for is Waterford Crystal Factory. This being one of Irelands most beautiful & lasting treasures, most people when visiting tend to buy at least one thing from the factory. You will find many festivals happening all year round in Waterford, such as the Bealtaine festival & the Harvest festival. 

The medieval city walls are well looked after and worth seeing, you may also wish to visit one of Waterford’s many theatre’s, museums, cinemas or theatrical groups. The city also has many historical & pre-historical sites such as tombs and possible burial sites. Waterford castle is also a great historical thing to see whilst visiting.

You will also find spectacular beaches in Waterford. With 147km of coastline & 49 beaches to choose from you will find your visit not to be complete without at least one visit to one of Waterford’s beautiful beaches. For those who enjoy water activities you will find diving, kayaking, surfing, sailing & even kite surfing. You may also wish to get out on the water for a spot of Whale watching.
