France is the largest country in Europe

The country makes up one fifth of the European Union. It also has 3000 km of coastline, large mountains and beautiful countryside.

The weather in the north of France is similar to Britain but in the South is much warmer. French people are very passionate about French food, French sports, French art; they are very enthusiastic about most things they do.
France is known for its wide selection of bars, cafes and nightclubs. You will find live rock, jazz and other types of entertainment such as theatre, opera and concerts.  No matter what your taste, there’s a range of things to do, depending on the thickness of your wallet. Shopping is also very big in France. Paris boasts some of the world’s best department stores, where visitors can see the latest trends in designer fashion and even attend free fashion shows. The French love to dress up and keep there voices down, it tends to be other tourists that do all the stumbling and shouting, on a night out.

1. Paris – Capital and the largest city in France
2. Strasbourg – The capital city of the Alsace region in eastern France. It is also the official seat of the European Parliament
3. Lyon – Is a city situated between Paris and Marseille. It is known for its historical and architectural landmarks
4. Nice – Situated on the south east coast of France. For years it was an Italian dominion. It became part of France in 1860
5. Marseille – this is the second largest city in France. It is located on the southeast coast of France Marseille can also be called the oldest city in France; it was founded in 600 BC by the Greeks.
6. Bordeaux – this is a port city on the Garonne River. It is located in south-western France. It is also the capital of the Aquitaine region
7. Montpellier – this city is the capital of the Languedoc Roussillon region. It is located in southern France
8. Toulouse – A city that lies on the banks of the River Garonne. It’s located in South-western France half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
9. Avignon – this is located in South-eastern France. It is often known as the “city of popes” due to the presence of popes and antipopes from 1309 to 1423 during the Catholic schism
10. Nantes – this is the capital city of the Pays de la Loire region located in Western France on the Loire River
