Nice is situated on the South east coast of France and attracts visitors from all over the world.

When it comes to museums and galleries Nice is second to Paris. There are many spots that a tourist simply must see like the Matisse Museum, the Russian Cathedral, ancient Roman ruins, the Cours Saleya Flower Market and more. Nice is full of high class restaurants some of the best being along the Promenade des Anglais, although these restaurants are high class they can be very pricey. Well worth it for those of us with plenty to spend because they all offer a wonderful view of the sea. If you have a low budget then Vieux Nice is great. Here you will find a range of restaurants serving national cuisine at a reasonable budget. Five of the top restaurants in Nice which have all been awarded one Michelin star are L’Aromate, Keisuke Matsushima, L’Univers Christian Plumail , Flaveur and Chantecler.

The best place to do your shopping in Nice is Magenta Square and the streets that surround it. With fancy boulevards, designer boutiques, street markets and antique shops, Nice is every shopper’s paradise. Other popular places to shop are Avenue Jean Medecin, Galleries Lafayette and Nice Etoile. Anything from designer clothing, shoes to jewellery can all be found in this beautiful city. The old town tends to have more shops open throughout the summer for longer periods. Some even open on Sundays. For great designer shops like Chanel, Armani, Hermes, Max Mara and more turn into Rue Paradis off Rue Massena and follow the road till the end and turn left.

Nice at night like most large cities comes alive. The city is home to many great night clubs Blue Boy Enterprise and La Palousa being two of its best. Nice’s premier DJ bar has to be Le Smarties with its hip crowds that wouldn’t look out of place on a 1970’s television set. Another great place to visit in an evening is Le Sezamo Jazz club. It’s a barn venue just five minutes walk from Gare de Riquier. One of the most popular British pubs in Nice is a pub called Big Ben, which offers a more relaxing alternative to booming music. It also serves some great English style food like steak and chips.
