Paris

Paris is known as the “City of Light” and also for being one of the most romantic cities in the world.

It’s also become one of the most visited cities in Europe with plenty to do to satisfy travellers of all tastes. With its spectacular architecture, museums, cathedrals, beautiful parks, elegant cuisine, sidewalk cafes and numerous monuments it really is a beautiful city. Don’t forget to take that romantic trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower for that amazing view.

Being the capital, it has so much to offer when it comes to shopping. Paris is home to some of the most exclusive fashion districts in the world. This beautiful city is every shoppers dream. Both Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and Avenue Montaigne are two of the most fashionable streets in the world with designer French department stores. Some other popular places to shop are Boulevard Haussmann, The Marais and also let’s not forget the Paris Flea Markets, which are fantastic to walk round and pick up that perfect souvenir to take home.
When it comes to eating out Paris really does cater for all tastes from German, Belgium, English and many more. When visiting the “City of Light” though you should definitely try out one of the top world renowned French restaurants like Le Meurice, L’Astrance or Huitrerie Regis. There is a long list of top restaurants with a galaxy of Michelin stars between them. Make sure after your day of exploring this beautiful city you stop off in one of the beautiful little cafes like Cafes des 2 Moulins which got its claim to fame from Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s instant classic film Amelie.
Some other popular things to see in Paris are Varsailles Palace, Pompidou Centre, Montemarte and Sacre Coeur, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Lourve, Disneyland, Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe. Plus make sure to take a cruise on the River Seine and take in all the cities architecture and famous landmarks. Many of the famous sites can be viewed on the river Seine. The river is lined with old quays and crossed with 37 beautiful bridges. It’s well worth taking one of these romantic cruises.
Paris by night comes alive with its hundreds of bars and nightclubs to choose from. With its many street entertainers, free concerts, great theatre and opera shows Paris really does have it all. One of the most famous of these shows being the Moulin Rouge Show which has become one of the most known tourist attractions in Paris. The show first came around in 1889 and has played host to world class acts such as Elton John and Frank Sinatra.
