Cambridge

Cambridge is known for its historic university, beautiful museums and wonderful art galleries.

There is a huge choice of galleries that showcases an impressive range of art, from contemporary to classic. So if you are an art lover then you must explore this city. When it comes to entertainment Cambridge has it all. With its classic buzzing theatre scene which presents drama, dance and family shows, to its festival scene with the world famous folk festival and the magical secret garden festivals. You also might like to enjoy a quite drink in a pub and listen to some of the live artists that Cambridge has to offer.

You might want to go for a walk along the River Cam or enjoy one of the walking tours that Cambridge has to offer, or even hire a bicycle and follow the excellent network of cycle paths in and around the city. Many tourists love visiting King’s College Chapel which is the most famous building in Cambridge, with its fan vaulted ceiling, stone carving and stained glass, its well worth a visit.
When it comes to shopping Cambridge has it all, with its seven days a week market on Market Square and its Saturday Garden Art and Craft market, to a huge amount of boutiques, independent shops, high street brands and also designer labels. Make sure to stroll down Ross Crescent, Trinity Street, Magdalene Street, Bridge Street and King Street to discover some great independent shops and great cafes.  Don’t forget to explore Grand Arcade also which is the city’s newest shopping centre.
Cambridge boasts a huge choice of eateries, whatever your appetite there is something to suit all tastes, from fine dining to cosmopolitan cuisine, to family friendly restaurants and charming tea rooms. You are definitely spoilt for choice when eating out in Cambridge. Whilst out and about make sure to stop off in The Pickerel Inn which is the cities oldest public house and enjoy a nice pint with the locals.
Your trip to Cambridge wouldn’t be complete without taking a traditional punting tour along the River Cam with your loved ones. Hop onboard and let the tranquil waters relax you or why not pick up the pole yourself and do a spot of steering. If you take one of the tours by an experienced local guide, you will find they have a wealth of local knowledge and many years experience of Cambridge. The trip that you take along the backs will be an experience that you will remember forever. This has to be a definite must whilst visiting Cambridge.
